Terms and conditions

By entering the prize competition, participants automatically acknowledge and accept the official terms and conditions applying to the prize competition.

1. Organizer:

Budapest Airport Budapest Liszt Ferenc Nemzetközi Repülőtér Üzemeltető Zártkörűen Működő Részvénytársaság (registered offices: 1185 Budapest, BUD International Airport; company registration number: 01-10-044665; tax number: 12724163-4-43, hereinafter “Organizer”) announces and holds a prize competition called “Easter promotion” (hereinafter: “Prize Competition”), for passengers making a purchase at Budapest Airport Terminal 2.

The Agency implementing the Prize Competition is ADAMSKY by Positive Kft. (registered offices: 1062 Budapest, Délibáb utca 29.) (hereinafter: “Agency”).

2. Participants, eligibility:

The following may take part in the Prize Competition:

All natural persons without age limitation, who

• Spend at least 80 euros in the case of the weekly prize and 100 euros in the case of the main prize in the shops participating in the Prize Competition, located in Terminal 2 of Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (Heinemann Duty Free – SkyCourt, T2A, Pier1, Memories of Hungary SkyCourt, Candy&Go, Living Toys, Swarovski, Playersroom, Heinemann Sunglasses multibrand shop, Heinemann sunglasses sport, Obsentum, Optic World, Rituals, Szamos, WHSmith) during the period of the Prize Competition, and
• Participate in the instant prize draw with the proof of purchase, at the hostesses on site during the period of the Prize Competition, thereby also simultaneously accepting all provisions of these Terms and Conditions, and register for the Prize Competition via the hostesses on site, by providing the data described in section 4 (personal data and purchase data) as described therein, and by signing, accepts all the terms and conditions of the Prize Competition described in these Terms and Conditions, and consent to the processing of the personal data provided for the Prize Competition as described in the Data Processing Notice attached to the Terms and Conditions (the person participating in the Prize Competition hereinafter: “Participant”).

The employees of the Organizer and of the Agency and their close relatives as specified in subsection 8:1 (1) 1) of the Civil Code may not participate in the Prize Competition. If the Participant has no capacity to act, a limited capacity to act or is partially or fully restricted in his or her capacity to act, he or she is only entitled to perform substantive administration and to make use of the prize with the involvement of his or her legal representative / trustee – in the case of divorced parents, the parent exercising parental supervision (with the consent of the legal representative / trustee or through the legal representative / trustee representing the winner).

3. The period of the Prize Competition:

The period of the Prize Competition: from 1 April 2025 to 30 April 2025, daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and, within that:

• First promotional period: 1 April 2025 - 7 April 2025
• Second promotional period: 8 April 2025 - 14 April 2025
• Third promotional period: 15 April 2025 - 21 April 2025
• Fourth promotional period: 22 April 2025 - 30 April 2025.

Both the purchases concerned and the presentation of the receipts must take place during the above period of time.

No purchase or registration made at any other time can constitute a basis for participation in the Prize Competition.

4. How to participate in the Prize Competition:

A Participant may participate in the Prize Competition on the basis of a purchase, as detailed below.

Participants may register for the Prize Competition with the hostesses who are present in the SkyCourt of Terminal 2 at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport during the entire period of the Prize Competition, by presenting the receipt as a proof of purchase.

During the registration process, the following must be done in full by the Participant if playing for the weekly prizes and the main prize:

• Enter his or her name as it appears on his or her identity document,
• Enter his or her email address,
• Present the receipt attesting the purchase,
• Accept these Terms and Conditions and consent to the processing of the personal data provided for the Prize Competition in accordance with the related Data Processing Notice.

The hostesses check the personal data and the data of the purchase (including the date and the amount of the purchase), and mark the receipts presented as proof of purchase. Receipts will only be accepted for the Prize Competition if they feature the AP code, the receipt number, the date of purchase and the time of purchase in a fully legible manner and if the time of purchase on the receipt falls within the period of the Prize Competition.

The products purchased in the shops specified in section 2 of these Terms and Conditions count  towards participation in the Prize Competition. A single receipt for a purchase of 80 EUR or more from a single store will qualify for the Prize Competition for the weekly prize, while a single receipt for a purchase of 100 EUR or more from a single store will qualify for the weekly prize and the main prize.

The data of a receipt may only be used once as proof of purchase for participation in the Prize Competition and the data of a receipt may only be registered for one valid participation in the Prize Competition.

Only purchases for which a machine or hand-written receipt or an invoice to the name of the private person were issued may be used as basis for participation in the Prize Competition.

It is not necessary to register for the Prize Competition on the day of the purchase; however, persons who register no later than by 18:00 hours on 30 April 2025 will be eligible to participate in the Prize Competition.

Any dispute relating to the validity of the Prize Competition and any other dispute of relevance shall be determined by the Organizer’s decision.

The Organizer reserves the right to exclude from the Prize Competition, temporarily or permanently, any Participant who does not participate as specified in the Terms and Conditions. The Organizer’s decision concerning exclusion shall be final and non-disputable.

The Organizer reserves the right to make a decision on any Prize Competition and proof of purchase of any form other than as prescribed herein.

5. Guaranteed prize

Participants who participate in the Prize Competition present the receipt attesting their purchase.

The Prize Competition is transacted by the hostesses involved in its implementation. The hostesses explain the exact process of the Prize Competition to the Participant before starting. Passengers who present at the stand a receipt for a purchase of at least 80 EUR from any of the shops participating in the promotion receive an instant prize. Instant prize: Szamos dessert. Prizes are subject to availability.

The Participant is obliged to take over the instant prize from the hostess in person, on site.

6. Registration for the weekly prizes and the main prize, the drawing of the prizes

Participants participating in the Prize Competition present the receipt proving their purchase.

The Prize Competition takes place on the tablet of the hostesses involved in its implementation. The registration process does not include any questions other than those relating to personal data as specified in section 4 of the Terms and Conditions.

During the prize draw, 4 (four) weekly prizes and 1 (one) main prize are drawn.

Weekly prizes:

Week 1 (1-7 April 2025): 1 (one) Easter Lego toy set

Week 2 (8-14 April 2025): 1 (one) Egg-shaped LED lamp

Week 3 (15-21 April 2025): 1 (one) Logitech Wonderboom bluetooth speaker

Week 4 (22-30 April 2025): 1 (one) Fujifilm Instax Polaroid camera

The machine draw will take place at 13:00 on 6 May 2025.

All Participants with a valid registration submitted during the entire duration of the Prize Competition participate in the draw for the main prize.

All Participants with a valid registration submitted during the given promotional week participate in the draw for the weekly prize.

The draw takes place in public at 1062 Budapest, Délibáb utca 29. via machine drawing and with a protocol.

7. Main prize, winner, backup winners:

Main prize: 1 (one) Apple HomePod.

In the case of the main prize and the weekly prizes, 1 (one) winner and 3 (three) backup winners are drawn.

8. The handover and the takeover of the prize:

After the prize draw, the Organizer notifies and informs the winner without delay, via his or her email address provided during the registration. The winner must send to the Organizer his or her address / postal address and his or her confirmation of whether he or she intends to take the prize, within 10 (ten) days of the first notification.

In case the winner’s postal address is not received in response to three email enquiries, within 10 (ten) days of sending the first email notification, a backup winner shall be involved. The backup winners will be notified in the order in which they were drawn, in the manner of notification specified above (i.e. if the first backup winner fails to send his or her postal address to the Organizer by the above deadline, the second backup winner will be notified, and so on). In case the winner or backup winner fails to respond to the Organizer as specified above, he or she automatically forfeits the prize.

The Organizer sends the prize to the Winner by post.

The prize is handed out by the Organizer.

The winner and the backup winner Participants are obliged to cooperate with the Agency, to make sure that the prize is handed over within 90 (ninety) days of the prize draw at the latest. The Organizer and the Agency shall not be liable in case the winner fails to cooperate as required, as a consequence of which the prize fails to be handed over within the above timeframe. The Organizer is able to provide the opportunity to take over the prize within this timeframe; the period for taking over the prize cannot be extended, therefore, the Participant’s failure to take it over during such timeframe will result in the loss of his or her entitlement to the prize.

The Organizer’s decision shall be final regarding the validity of any registration submitted or any other dispute arising.

In the event of a dispute as to the identity of the winner, the Organizer’s decision shall be final and non-disputable regarding the awarding of the prize and/or the identity of the winner.

The prize cannot be converted to cash and has no return value. The prize cannot be exchanged for other gift items.

9. Taxes and public dues:

Any tax and/or contribution payable in relation to the prize will be settled by the Organizer, provided that in case prizes won in competitions of the like of the Prize Competition are subject to personal income tax in the country of which the winner is a citizen, such tax shall be payable by the winner in his or her home country.

10. Information about the Prize Competition:

These Terms and Conditions and the related Data Processing Notice are available via the hostesses in the SkyCourt and on the Organizer’s website.

The Prize Competition will be advertised on the following airport surfaces: BUD website, BUD Facebook and Instagram page, on-site materials: promotional posters, digital surfaces.

11. Miscellaneous:

The pictures of the prize shown in adverts are only illustrations.

Businesses and companies may not participate in the Prize Competition.

The prizes cannot be transferred or converted into cash.

The Organizer and the companies participating in running the Prize Competition assume no responsibility regarding the quality of the prize; any such claim may be enforced by the winner against the distributor of the prize, as specified in applicable statutory regulations.

Any violation of the rules of participation – even after receipt of the prize – will entail exclusion from the Prize Competition and, possibly, legal actions, as appropriate. The Participant bears full liability for any damage or loss caused to the Organizer by breaching the Terms and Conditions of the Prize Competition. The Organizer’s decision concerning exclusion shall be final and non-disputable.

The Organizer reserves the right to exclude from the Prize Competition, with immediate effect, any Participant found, or reasonably suspected, to be engaged in any manipulation or any conduct that is not compatible with, or is in violation of, the spirit of the Prize Competition.

The Organizer reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions of the Prize Competition, in case it considers this necessary, or it may rescind the Prize Competition at any time, without justification. Participants may be informed of any change to the Terms and Conditions or the rescission of the Prize Competition from the Terms and Conditions and via the hostesses.

Data processing notice on the processing of the personal data of the participants of the “Easter promotion” event held between 1-30 April 2025

Budapest Airport Zrt. (registered offices: 1185 Budapest, BUD International Airport; corporate registration number: 01-10-044665; tax number: 12724163-4-44;) in accordance with regulation (EU) no. 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (hereinafter: “GDPR”) hereby informs passengers participating in the prize competition held between 1-30 April 2025 who make a purchase at Terminal 2 (hereinafter: Data Subject) regarding the processing of their personal data.

Applicants who register for the competition will be entered into a machine draw. The data subjects who win the machine draw will be contacted by the data controller by e-mail.

2.3. The data controller may publish the following data on its Facebook page and the bud.hu website:

Participation in the event is voluntary, based on your choice and free will. You have the right to withdraw your consent to data processing at any time, in the case of processing based on consent, which does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of your consent until such withdrawal.

To withdraw your consent, please send your signed declaration of withdrawal of consent, marked “Easter promotion” to dpo@bud.hu.

In the request for erasure, we will ask you for the same identification data as when you registered to give your consent. The data collected will be stored for a maximum of 30 days, until voluntary consent is withdrawn (erasure). After this period, we will no longer store either your withdrawn personal data or your request for erasure. A request to erase data during the competition will result in exclusion from the competition.

Please note that the processing of personal data published by the Organizer in press releases after sharing on social networking sites is governed by the rules of the given social networking site.

3. The recipients of the personal data and the categories of recipients
   • Data processors:

• GLS General Logistics Systems Hungary Kft. (registered offices: 2351 Alsónémedi, GLS Európa utca 2.; prize delivery service)

Independent data controller:

• Facebook (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., registered offices: 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2 Ireland; social media service provider)

4. Transfer of personal data

No data is transferred to third countries or international organizations, except for the data provided for in point 2.3, whereby the (backup) winners will be announced on the social media provider Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. The service provider is based outside the European Economic Area (EEA), so personal data may be transferred to the USA. Meta has joined the EU-US Data Protection Framework (DPF), which ensures adequate protection during data transfers. After sharing on the social media site, data processing is subject to the policy of Facebook. For more information about the cookies used by Meta Ireland, please see Meta’s cookie policy.

5. The storage of personal data, data security

The data required for the “Easter promotion” prize competition are stored on the data controller’s own servers (Budapest Airport Zrt., 1185 Budapest BUD International Airport) and on the hostesses’ tablets.

BUD, as Data Controller, must ensure the security and lawful use of the data, by taking appropriate technical and organizational measures. BUD stores the data provided by participants and processed by BUD on its own on-site servers, in secure databases, access to which is limited to persons whose access to, knowledge and processing of the data is indispensable for the performance of their duties.

BUD takes reasonable steps to ensure that personal data stored by it should not be accessible to unauthorized persons. It will only disclose data to another organization if required to do so by law or on the basis of an official request, if the legal conditions for doing so are met.

If the Data Controller is required by a court or authority to provide personal data in the course of legal proceedings, the Data Controller is obliged to provide the requested data to the court or authority in question, in compliance with its legal obligation. The Data Controller only discloses personal data to the authorities if the authority has indicated the precise purpose and scope of the data, only to the extent that is strictly required for the purpose of the request and strictly necessary for the purpose of the request.

6. The source of personal data, refusal to provide data and consequences

BUD records and verifies the data provided by participants through the hostesses on-site. In case of refusal to provide data, it is not possible to participate in the prize competition.

7. Automated decision-making (including profiling)

Automated decision-making, including profiling, does not take place during processing.

8. Data subjects’ rights in relation to data processing:

• Right to information:

You may request information from the data controller about processing at any time during processing. The purpose of this notice is also to provide clear, concise, transparent and understandable information about the data processing activities of BUD.

• Right to access personal data

You have the right to receive feedback from the controller on whether the processing of your personal data is in progress, and if such processing is in progress, the data subject is entitled to receive access to the personal data and the information specified in the GDPR. BUD will provide you with a copy of the personal data processed. BUD may charge a reasonable fee for any additional copies you request, based on administrative costs. If you have submitted your request electronically, we will provide the information to you in a commonly used electronic format, unless requested otherwise.

• Right to the rectification of personal data:

You have the right to have inaccurate personal data concerning you corrected by BUD without undue delay, upon request.

• Right to the erasure of personal data, the right to be forgotten:

You have the right to have your personal data erased without undue delay at your request, based on a submitted request, if one of the following grounds applies:

• The personal data are no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were collected or otherwise processed;
• You withdraw your previous consent and there is no other legal basis for processing;
• You object to processing and there are no overriding legitimate grounds for processing;
• The personal data have been unlawfully processed;
• The data must be erased, in order to comply with a legal obligation under EU or member state law, which the controller is subject to;
• Personal data are collected in connection with the provision of information society services (conditions for children’s consent).

• Right to the restriction of processing

You have the right to request that we restrict processing if one of the following conditions is met:

• You contest the accuracy of the personal data, in which case the restriction applies for the period of time that allows BUD to verify the accuracy of the personal data;
• The processing is unlawful, you object to the erasure of the data and instead request the restriction of their use;
• BUD no longer needs the personal data for the purposes of processing, but you require them for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims; or
• You have objected to processing; in this case, the restriction applies for the period until it is established whether BUD’s legitimate grounds override your legitimate grounds

If processing is restricted on the basis of the above, such personal data, with the exception of storage, may only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for important public interests of the EU or of a member state. BUD will inform you in advance of the lifting of the restriction on the processing restricted at your request.

9. The exercising of data subjects’ rights in relation to data processing and the related deadline

In order to exercise the rights of the data subject by electronic means, the request containing the data subject’s request must be sent to dpo@bud.hu.

BUD will comply with your request to exercise your rights within a maximum of one month of receipt. The day of receipt of the request does not count towards the deadline.

If necessary, BUD may, taking into account the complexity of the request and the number of requests, extend this deadline by a further two months. BUD will inform you of such an extension, stating the reasons for the delay, within one month of the receipt of the request.

11. Amendments of the data processing notice:

BUD reserves the right to unilaterally amend this data processing notice, without prior notice.
